The selectee for this position will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (MIL) in the Navy Pay and Personnel Support Center of PERS SUPPORT DET MEMPHIS.

Responsibilities

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Analyze employee documents to determine pay entitlements.

Advise customers about personnel actions processes and procedures.

Correct pay accounts according to regulations.

Analyze pay accounts to identify incomplete or conflicting information.

Resolve personnel pay issues to ensure employees receive correct pay entitlements.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Using automated personnel systems and applying pay/personnel policies, rules, and regulations to perform administrative human resource support functions (e.g. processing personnel actions, reviewing personnel information for discrepancies, maintain databases, and preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence);

OR

Four years of education above high school level;

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience
