Who we are and what we do:
The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is a state agency established to promote workforce development and improve workplace safety and health throughout the state.
How you make a difference in this role:
Entry level position that is responsible for assisting customers with a variety of services.
Overview:
Entry level position that is responsible for assisting customers with a variety of services such as: job searching, resume writing and interviewing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive & operate a 36 ft long truck/ RV type vehicle
- Comfortable making presentations in front of small groups
- Host job service workshops for customers
- Willing to work varied hours (morning or evening) for certain events
- Flexible and adapt to different work environments and situations
- Willing to travel throughout all of East Tennessee
- Work with schools, correctional facilities, community leaders, chambers, as well as other partner agencies within the state
- Assist employers with hosting job fairs and hiring events on site
- Assist job seekers with filling out job applications, preparing a resume and improving interview skills
Required Experience:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable of computer software
- Customer service oriented
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. College is a plus. Willing to work full time
