Director, Patient Safety

for its Franklin, TN, headquarters’

Quality and Clinical Transformation

team.

Summary:
Directs Patient Safety and Quality Activities
within the component patient safety organization with focus on CHS PSO, LLC
affiliated physician practices. Responsible to the Sr. Director, Patient Safety
Officer.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities

include the
following.

Other duties may be
assigned.

Analyze internal and external data (e.g. Event Reporting System
(ERS), Comprehensive Risk Assessment, Athena, AllScripts, etc.) to
identify key opportunities to improve patient safety, clinical and quality
outcomes.

Researches and utilizes current, evidence-based practices to
improve patient safety, clinical and quality outcomes.
Onsite support of CHS PSO, LLC
affiliated providers in educating and implementing Leadership Methods and S.A.F.E.
Error Prevention Tools, including Safety Coach Programs

Educator for Physician Practice Operational leaders in the areas
of patient safety, clinical and quality outcomes via conference calls,
webinars and onsite.

Mentor peer Safety Coaches in physician practices.

Comply with established policies to preserve the confidentiality
of patient safety work product (PSWP) prohibiting disclosure or
duplication except to persons authorized to receive PSWP.

Review and sign a CHS PSO, LLC confidentiality agreement.

Mark and label all information received in the CHS PSO, LLC with
confidentiality disclaimer.

Treat all information received by the CHS PSO, LLC as confidential
including mail, e-mail, digital, video, fax, and text.

Certified educator and reviewer on standardized! Cause Analysis
methodology.

Demonstrates effective proble! m-solving, conflict resolution, and
negotiating skills.

Demonstrates time management, effective organizational and
delegation skills.

Demonstrates leadership and teamwork and facilitates positive relations
between staff and physicians.

Direct Comprehensive Risk Assessment for physician practices:
Concurrent review and revision of question sets to include known
root causes of adverse events, industry standards, and best practices

Collaborate with QCT, Risk Management Advisory Councils, and
Physician Practice Operations for annual review and approval of
assessment tool.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job
successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge and recent
experience using the complete suite of Microsoft Office tools with emphasis on

Certificates and

Licenses:
Licensed
as a Registered Nurses. Preferred certification or certification-eligible in American
Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and/or Certified Professional in
Patient Safety (CPPS).

Supervisory

Re! sponsibilities:

Education/Experience:
! Master’s degree in
healthcare related field and baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited
college or university required.

Minimum of 5 years recent
and relative management experience in an accredited healthcare organization.

Minimum of 3 years recent
experience in patient safety, risk management and quality.

Medical practice information
system experience preferred
