Provide strategic communications counsel to TVA's Nuclear Power Group (NPG) business units leadership team.
Keep Senior Manager of Nuclear Communications informed on all significant operational, regulatory and policy issues occurring at TVA nuclear sites and at fleet headquarters in Chattanooga.

Develop and execute a strategic internal communications plan designed to inform and engage employees of TVA NPG's the plants business plans designed to position TVA as a nuclear industry top performer.

Oversee production of internal and external communication products and services that achieve business unit goals and objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Identifies key issues and provides senior-level strategic communications counsel and support to NPG and NC executives and their leadership teams.

Initiates, develops and implements comprehensive strategic communications plans for both internal and external programs and initiatives, including the writing and editing all supporting materials - talking points, news releases, Q&A, fact ! sheets, etc.

Recommends media and public affairs stra! tegies to the senior leadership team of NPG and NC.

May be required to represent TVA as a media spokesperson on a wide variety of nuclear issues, policy and events.

Coordinates and manages public appearances of NPG and NC senior leaders; plans TVA public meeting strategy and serves as a TVA spokesperson at public meetings.

Provides communications counsel and serves as a spokesperson during routine and emergency situations.

Maintains a strong understanding of business unit operations, goals and issues.

Stays connected with industry trends by routinely participating in industry meetings, conferences and benchmarking opportunities.

Exhibits excellent project management and organizational skills in order to deliver effective and timely results.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILTY FACTORS:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing preferred or combination of Bachelor's degree an work experience in! public relations, communications, marketing, media relations or public affairs.

Public Relations degree desirable.

At least 5 years experience in communications, including consulting, strategy development and material production or business equivalent.

Nuclear plant communications experience desirable.

Must possess excellent leadership, writing, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Must be a creative and forward-thinking, able to present ideas and concepts to groups of all sizes.

Must possess a proactive nature and be able to work with minimal direction on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
