Materials Supervisor

Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited 4 year College or University 2 - 4 years of experien! ce in Financial Analysis out of a manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Demonstrated ability to turn data into insight Excellent written and verbal communication skills The Materials Supervisor will manage the flow of parts purchased from the supplier base, including maintenance and control of the inventory from the supplier's dock to our production lines.
The Materials Supervisor will plan and place purchase orders for production components ensuring that parts are received in the quantity required, when needed. Proactively and reactively manage and expedite component part shortages by identifying issues and internal problems. Provide the Scheduler with strategic and tactical direction, which supports established goals and objectives. Lead and mentor direct reports on techniques and best practices associated with inventory control and resource management.
Supervise employees utilizing Human Resou! rces processes, including performance reviews and performance ! expectations, work responsibilities, top grading, etc. Follow all company policies/practices. Directly supervises 2-4 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communicate, coordinate and resolve quality problems. This includes reject disposition, non-conforming material and SCAR tracking. Coordinate resolution of supplier quality problems (commodity specialist, supplier, product lines and design engineering) Control number of days of inventory on hand by reducing lot sizes, increasing replenishment and shipping frequency, etc.
Monitor and approve non-standard component part usage. Maintain and control usage and replenishment of supply items. Executes cycle counts ! as proscribed by corporate schedules. Research all cycle count variances and identify and resolve waste and bill of material inaccuracies.
Plan and organize space requirements for responsible commodities. Education and/or Experience Required 2-4 years of experience in a Materials Supervision capacity. Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited 4 year College or University 2 - 4 years of experience in Financial Analysis out of a manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
