Description: Austin Peay State University is looking of Instructor/Assistant Professor - Health and Human Performance right now, this position will be placed in Tennessee. In general, undergraduate teaching assignments will be related to health education to include Consumer Health, Substance Use and Abuse, Youth and Adolescent Health, Coordinated School Health and Teaching Methods in Health and Human Performance.
Graduate assignment expectations include teaching selected graduate courses: Foundations in Health Education, and Statistics and Assessment. Serving on graduate student committees is expected. Advising students and maintaining an area of research is important is important to HHP faculty. This position demands a strong interest in pedagogy.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses;
- Advise students;
- Hold required office hours; and
- Develop and maintain a research initiative.
- A typical teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester plus 3 hours for research, advising, and committee work.
- Service to the university, profess! ion, and community is expected.

Required Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate with emphasis in Health Education, Physical Education or related field from a regional accrediting body.
- ABD considered with evidence of proposal approved by dissertation committee. Doctorate must be obtained by May 2014.
- Candidate must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and evidence of web-based instruction.
- Strong consideration given to candidates with CHES certification or licensure.
- A background search will be required of the successful candidate.
