This role is responsible for working in Optumââ¬â¢s Advanced Analytics Labââ¬â¢s and delivering Business Intelligence Content to its customers. Business ! Intelligence content includes: business user reporting applications, advanced reporting, dashbaording and OLAP cubes. The Business Intelligence Content is focused on investigating key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data to provide statistical findings and conclusions. In addition the role will be responsible for some server side support and configuration.
The candidate is required to have strong Healthcare data and relational database knowledge. The position will be accountable to work within the Systems Development Lifecycle. The technology suite currently leveraged is SAS (base and BI), Tableau, SQL, Oracle, UNIX, Teradata and Netezza. We need self-starter who can likes to have fun while performing at a high level for our customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
ââ¬Â¢ Use advanced statistical and inferential analysis programs to provide specialized data analysis.
ââ¬Â¢ Solves unique and ! complex problems with broad impact on the business.
ââ¬Â! ¢ Organizes, sorts and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends.
ââ¬Â¢ Conducting stakeholder interviews and user testing sessions, creating workflows and schematics, as well as delivering information architecture and click-through prototypes
ââ¬Â¢ Deliver professional level technical work in support of the development of company products, tools, platforms and services.
ââ¬Â¢ Design and develop Analytical and Business Intelligence solutions for the Advanced Analytics labs customers.
ââ¬Â¢ Evaluates new analytics tools and methodologies for possible deployment. creates data warehouses/marts and/or develops data mining analyses to support business decisions.
ââ¬Â¢ Analyze business drivers and requirements to evolve the IT solutions architecture
ââ¬Â¢ Operates within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines. Applies knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems.
ââ¬Â¢ Works cl! osely with other functions to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
ââ¬Â¢ Creating innovative and creative solutions to enable the Advanced Analytics Lab for internal and external customers
ââ¬Â¢ Consult on infrastructure and application development initiatives to design scalable solution architectures based on business goals, requirements and IT strategies
ââ¬Â¢ Make recommendations about platform adoption, including database servers, application servers, libraries, and frameworks
ââ¬Â¢ Help application developers to adopt new platforms through documentation, training, and mentoring
ââ¬Â¢ Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
ââ¬Â¢ Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches.
Requirements
ââ¬Â¢ 4 year degree required (MIS, CIS, Healthcare Informatics, or related degree) required
ââ¬Â¢ 2+ years of experienc! e in Healthcare or Healthcare Insurance (mid to large scale, 500+) requ! ired
ââ¬Â¢ 3+ years of SAS Business Intelligence platform experience (Stored Processes, Web Reports, Dashbaords, OLAP Cubes ) required
ââ¬Â¢ 4+ years of data analysis experience using SQL against DBMSs (Netezza, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server) required
ââ¬Â¢ 4+ years working within the System Development Lifecycle (Requirements, Build, Design, Testing, etc.) required
Assets :
ââ¬Â¢ Tableau experience is preferred
ââ¬Â¢ SharePoint Design a plus
ââ¬Â¢ High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
ââ¬Â¢ Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and computer skills
ââ¬Â¢ Excellent oral, written communication presentation skills
ââ¬Â¢ Medicaid and/or Medicare program knowledge strongly desired
