Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA), a joint venture of Jacobs Engineering, Computer Sciences Corp, and General Physics, provides operations, maintenance, and support services at the Air Force's Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
AEDC is the nation's largest complex of flight simulation test facilities. This $11 billion complex includes 58 aerospace test facilities with the ability to simulate flight from subsonic to hypersonic speeds at altitudes from sea-level to space. Twenty-seven of the center's facilities are unique in the United States; fourteen are unique in the world.

Responsibilities:
Supervisor for Cooling Water Operations responsible for operation and maintenance of the AEDC cooling water system base wide (providing supervision for approximately 22 employees manning shifts covering 24/7/365). Focal point for day-to-day coordination of activities within Cooling Water Operations in support of testing, base support, and maintenance. May assume supervisor responsibility for other Utility Operations sections when required due to emergency situations, peer supervisor scheduled time off, etc. Works closely with engineers, other supervisors, and the MOCC regarding all activities concerning cooling water operations. Responsible for wage timecard, wage vacation, and leave program administration. Responsible for performance evaluations and counseling / disciplining wage personnel for performance issues and non-conformance of company policies and procedures. Responsible for conflict resolution among employees. Responsible for team safety meetings, monitoring craft safety practices and ensuring that the work place is in compliance with OSHA standards. Investigates accidents/incidents, completes accident reports, and assures that proactive steps are taken to prevent similar type accidents / incidents in the future. Building and/or plant management; ensures that all craft personnel as well as themselves adhere to good workplace stewardship including good housekeeping practices and tool control Understands and abides by collective bargaining agreement (Union Contract); hears first step grievances when necessary. Manages the wage overtime process and assigns overtime as required to accomplish work. Focal point for all environmental issues within area of responsibility. Interfaces with customer (Asset Owner, MOCC Representatives, Air Force, etc.) as required to ensure that cooling water capability is ready to support all testing operations. It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
A.S. degree or trade school plus ten (10) years relevant and progressive experience or any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of twelve (12) years relevant experience. Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills are required. Must be able to effectively communicate with others. General knowledge of mechanical systems operations and maintenance. PC proficient including some use of maintenance management and financial systems. Must complete the ATA Leadership Development Program within 6 months of hire/promotion.

Attendance:
Regular attendance is essential to the efficient operation of ATA and is a necessary condition of employment. Each employee will be expected to adhere to the work schedule established by his/her supervisor and comply with the companyâs attendance policy. Extra work hours may be required to meet work schedules and testing requirements. Employees are expected to report to work at the scheduled time, return from breaks promptly, and depart work not earlier than the end of the scheduled day. Compliance with safety rules and safe work practices is an essential function of the job.
