HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR

Coordinates the activities of the multi-disciplinary patient care team related to the provision of patient care. Performs administrative work appropriate for patient care that supports the hospital unit operation and the health care team. Ensures the overall efficient functioning/flow of the clinical unit/specialty area utilizing both verbal and written communication skills; employing technical skills to manage patient related data/processes and performing general receptionist and clerical duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High School/GED Required
Minimum Wor! k Experience
6 months experience or training required!
Required Licenses/Certifications for position
NAHUC Certification encouraged.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to interpret and document information accurately.
Must demonstrate effective organizational and prioritization skills as well as the ability to maintain productivity with interruptions.
Must be able to effectively deal with a variety of individuals and hospital systems.
Medical terminology preferred, computer skills required.

Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to ! lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
