Job Description: Performance Test Engineer/Load Tester
Summary
This position is for a Performance Test Engineer to provide load testing and performance engineering services to development teams responsible for a wide variety of applications, web sites, and mobile devices.
Responsibilities include working with Development, Operations and Quality Improvement teams to analyze, plan, deliver, and monitor load testing services though all phases of the development process. Candidates must have the ability to communicate test results clearly and concisely to all levels of product and program management and quickly adapt t! o a high paced and rapidly changing technical environment. Background should include education and experience in load testing, systems engineering, networks, databases and product development and must have prior load testing experience with HP LoadRunner (minimum, 2 years).
The following tasks below are required for the job candidate:
- Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability
- Work with testing team to develop performance test plans and cases
- Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes
- Generate test summary reports for management review
- Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions
- Conduct job trainings and provide assistance to Project Managers, Business Lead, QA personnel and others as needed
- Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and tracking activities
- P! rovide support in project design, development and deployment activities
- Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures
- Assigns work to subordinates, monitors performance and conducts performance appraisals. Interviews and makes recommendations for additional staff.
Skills:
- Microsoft Office Products
- UNIX/Linux/Windows OS, some server administration experience a plus
- Analyzing / Developing Web page details / constructs / source code
- Networks (Load Balancer, F5, Global Traffic Manager)
- 2+ years’ experience with HP LoadRunner (Vugen, Controller, Analysis) using web, web service, Citrix, and TruClient protocols
- Communication and leading conduct of large test events, test readiness reviews and results presentations
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related! field required
- 5-7 years’ experience in quality assurance, ! computer programming, or a related field
