Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center of Memphis (CSCCM)
The Methodist Healthcare Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center provides a pre! ventive outpatient clinic specifically for sickle cell patients and Memphis’ first dedicated emergency infusion unit. The Center is focused on becoming a patient-centered home for individuals living with sickle cell disease and acts as a model for primary care and preventive medicine.
We are committed to providing continuity of care that will help enhance the quality of life of patients and their families across the Mid-South. The Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center of Memphis provides patients with clinical resources to ensure their healthcare needs are met and their medical transition is seamless.
The Center provides:
- Comprehensive preventive care and patient education services.
- Transition assistance from pediatric to adult care for patients ages 18-25.
- Quick access to the infusion care services for crisis management.
- Emergency Infusion Unit for im! mediate treatment of sickle cell crises.
- Prevention O! utpatient Clinic
- Coordination of patient education, genetic counseling, social work services, and psychosocial support.
- Transition Clinic in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, academic partnership with University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and the University of Memphis School of Public Health.
- The ability to achieve greater efficiencies and synergies in patient care that help reduce re-admissions, length of stay, resource utilization, etc.
Successful applicants will have:
- Medical Degree
- Board Certified/Board Eligible
- A proven commitment to the sickle cell patient population.
- Proven ability to communicate and educate patients, family, and the community.
