The James H. Quillen VAMC and Its Oupatient Clinic in Knoxville, TN. are recruiting for a Physician to be the Lead Medical Officer to oversee the Campbell County Outpatient Cinic.

Campbell County is located in East Tennessee on theKentucky-Tennessee border. It was formed in 1806 from parts of Anderson andClaiborne Counties. The county seat is Jacksboro.

Campbell County! is part of the NorrisHighlands. Much of Norris Lake is contai! ned within its boundaries as well asseveral wildlife management areas such as the North Cumberland WildlifeManagement Area. The county is home to two state parks— CoveLake State Park near Caryville and IndianMountain State Park near Jellico, and portions of NorrisDam State Park . There are two trail heads that lead to the Cumberland Trail located in Campbell County

DUTIES: We are seeking an immediate fill for a full-time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to serve as the Lead Medical Officer, at the VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Campbell County, Tennessee. The Physician reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer, at the Knoxville Outpatient Clinic. Incumbent is charged with providing leadership/supervision in all areas relating to the clinical operation of the Campbell County CBOC. With 2 primary care providers and associated support staff, this CBOC provides outpatient-only primary care for eligible Veterans in the area. The required skill set includes current Primary Care clinical proficiency, willingness and ability to encourage teamwork, implement new initiatives and maintain high standards of performance. A broad working knowledge of and experience with VA policies and procedures is desirable, but not mandatory. VA Primary Care Providers are responsible for coo! rdinating all aspects of the patients' care, making referrals to specialists, ordering procedures, ordering and monitoring all medications plus handling all their patients' acute needs.
Work Schedule: Generally administrative, 7:45 to 4:30, Monday thru Friday (some clinic hours may be extended as needed)
SALARY: Applicant's education and length of practice (experience) will be considered by a Physician Compensation Panel in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. Relocation/Recruitment incentive MAY be authorized upon review and approval by management.
Relocation Expenses : Relocation expenses may be authorized for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may beappointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)

Degree of doctor ofmedicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education inmedicine or osteopathic medicine. Current, full! andunrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Te! rritory, orCommonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Must be boardcertified

Preferred Experience

1. Background in ongoing outpatientprimary care clinics.

2. Board certification in Internal Medicine/FamilyMedicine.
