POSITION SUMMARY: The HR & Safety Intern will report directly to the HR Manager and will work closely with the Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator. The goal is for this person to gain real, hands-on exposure to Human Resources and Safety in a fast-paced environment while being a val! ue-add to the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT A! RE NOT LIMITED TO:
Recruitment: posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting telephone and in-person interviews, conducting background screenings, develop and maintain relationships with schools in area
Coordinate Employee Appraisal process
Lead employee engagement initiatives
Support and participate in plant’s safety process
Maintenance of confidential personnel files and forms
Co-facilitate and coordinate safety training classes and Communication and Team Effectiveness training classes
Coordinate Communications Meetings
Other projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be a junior or senior currently enrolled in 4 year degree program â€" HR major preferred.
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Must have a valid driver’s license and will be subject to a background check. Applicant will work up to 30-35 hours per week.
Must be able to work between the hours of 8-5, M-F Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
