We are seeking an experienced Global Speaker's Bureau Director to lead the executive briefing program across its network of briefing and experiences centers worldwide. The Global Speaker's Bureau Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive recruiting and engagement strategy for 3,000+ Microsoft's commercial business and technology solutions subject matter experts, and leadership thought leaders who deliver high-impact briefing sessions to Microsoft's most strategic customers.

The Global Speaker's Bureau Director will work hand in hand with teammates in the Customer Engagement (CET) Content team, regional briefing centers, and key business group content/topic owners to ensure that the speakers are well-prepared, aligned, and effective in bringing Microsoft's technology solutions to life for the customers.

The ideal candidate will have a background in executive communications, global speaker management, and customer engagement, as well as a passion for technology and innovation. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing an all-up strategic and landing plan that focuses on recruiting, re-recruiting and renewing our global speaker’s bureau as we expanded our global footprint (Redmond, Silicon Valley, Atlanta, Munich and Singapore). Plan must identify, secure, and manage speaking opportunities for our executives and subject matter experts across a wide range of technology solution areas, industries and specific regions and markets.
  • As part of the all-up plan, this person will develop and execute a global speaker engagement and training plan to achieve a high speaker health metric. This plan should activate our speakers and builds a highly engaged community of global experts that are proud and happy to serve in a volunteer capacity, knowing that it helps the customer, it helps Microsoft and their business unit, and their careers. This will also include a robust activation and training plan to uplevel the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our speaking community.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of our speaker engagements and providing regular reports and insights to senior management. Oversee the data and insights of our speaker community feedback and surveys and provide quarterly reviews to turn insights into action plans to enable the improvement of our speaker community and customer impact.
  • Direct the Speaker requirements and updates needed for Customer Engagement Hub (CEHub), our customer engagement tool that enables the match making of speaker to customer engagement. Ensuring creation and regular updates of speaker profiles, bios, presentations, and other materials to ensure consistency and quality of our messaging and positioning.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business group content/topic owners, speaker community, CET and Cross Solutions leadership team

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Operations, or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing speaker bureaus or similar programs.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • A proven track record of securing high-profile and impactful speaking opportunities for senior executives and subject matter experts.
  • An understanding of the technology landscape and the key trends, topics and issues that resonate with different audiences.
  • A passion for storytelling and creating engaging and compelling presentations.
  • Experience managing global budgets
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • A scrappy, bias for action individual who has a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • A willingness to travel as needed, and work across different time zones.
Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
