E-Commerce Marketing Director

Working with the CMO, the Director of eCommerce is responsible the development and execution of Direct General’s digital/web strategic roadmap defining how the organization leverages all digita! l marketing efforts to advance the overall contribution of the web channel. This individual will identify new e-commerce revenue opportunities and optimize existing efforts to drive traffic, online sales and positive customer response to our digital presence as well as grow our database of customers through all channels. This role will provide day-to-day input to the teams responsible for Direct General’s consumer experience, mobile applications, digital content, e-mail marketing campaigns, SEO/SEM and data analytics, as well as integration with marketing for other channels.

Key Responsibilities:
Leverage deep understanding of available e-commerce solutions/strategies, consumer online behavior and emerging trends to define and implement solutions which drive traffic and conversations, new customer acquisition, retention and best-in-class experience.

Evaluate and grow SEO strategy, set goals and KPI’s and providing guidance to SEO team member! s.

Utilize an understanding difference in lead genera! tion versus brand-building activities and the capacity of each as it relates to drive both short-term and long-term revenue goals for the channel.

Design digital promotions, advertising and media through partnership with the larger marketing team, product managers, field sales leaders and external vendor partners.

Identify new mobile trends and business opportunities and related business requirements for successful mobile solutions.

Oversee and build out e-mail marketing capabilities and programs.

Provide hands-on management and guidance to direct reports with a focus on developing a highly effective and collaborative team with strong technical knowledge, business acumen and entrepreneurial attitudes.

Ensure tight integration of offline and online promotions and marketing efforts by working in concert with other departments through an understanding of the interplay between the customers multiple offline and online touch points an! d experience.

Serve as internal consultant to business leadership providing direction and education on all issues relating to digital marketing initiatives.

Provide ongoing tracking and analysis of user behavior through market analysis, competitive analysis and site analytics to identify key performance drivers and operating metrics in order to maximize ROI of digital media efforts.

Requirements

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred, Advance degree a plus

7+ years of consumer eCommerce experience or direct marketing industry experience

Experience in managing an eCommerce site, planning and executing site content, with actions informed by sales data and analytics; Director level experience working on $100 million+ eCommerce site preferred

Ability to build strong data driven working relationships with internal personnel who manage SEO, SEM, Social, Affil! iate and Email

Conceptual and technical understanding of eComm! erce/website architecture and infrastructure as they relate to eCommerce operations

Solid understanding of content management and tagging

Knowledge of the latest research, analysis and best practices regarding online shopping behavior, eCommerce marketing methodologies and website usability

Thorough understanding of Internet technologies, including eCommerce, mobile, social, SEO, and analytics platforms

Proven track record of converting data into actionable improvement and sales

Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Track record of personal engagement with emerging technologies and media

Experience building and managing an eCommerce Team
