This position is responsible for all duties associated with and related to the safe, efficient and cost effective installation and maintenance! of natural gas facilities and appurtenances on both transmission and distribution natural gas systems.
Duties and responsibilities as needed and required include;
Basic natural gas distribution/transmission work
Performs manual work requiring physical strength including:
Basic CP checks
Pipe locating
Leak detection / classification
Valve maintenance
Installation and maintenance of natural gas piping and systems.
Operate, transport, maintain, and make minor repairs to: air compressors, pneumatic tools, and other small job related equipment used in handling and installing maintaining gas piping systems to include soil classification.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Tennessee Drivers License
Demonstrated effective communication (Verbal and! Written) and interpersonal skills and demonstrated mechanical! aptitude
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Basic knowledge of underground construction activities and knowledge and use of construction tools
Basic knowledge of Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications:
Experience using hand tools
Natural gas or utility operations experience, underground operations experience or related work experience (machine or equipment operator)
PC knowledge working in a Windows environment
Technical school or certificate
Physical Requirements:
Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, standing, digging, climbing; works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation; manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination); keen eyesight; good hearing; good sense of smell; comes in frequent contact with insects and animals; ability to us! e breathing apparatus when responding to gas leaks.
Other Requirements:
Weekend and evening work as required. Subject to overtime and must be available for call-out and emergency response. Some rotating shifts.
