Summary: The Database Administrator/Developer is responsible for all activities related to database applications and the corresponding support systems of the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of database management in an Enterprise environment Knowledgeable in database recovery a! nd high availability Backup and recovery of databases Responsi! ble for Implementing and maintaining the schedule for maintenance jobs in order to maintain the health, performance, and integrity of the database systems Responsible for database alerts, maintenance plans and scripts System health monitoring and proactive correction of issues Creation of jobs, stored procedures, and other database activities as needed Control of security of the database systems and how users interact with the data Migration of data based on the needs of the Company Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management Responsible for the installation, configuration, application of patches and upgrades to corporate SQL servers Install, upgrade, and configure applications and database software on Microsoft Windows Server platforms Support Microsoft SQL-Server, IIS, and .NET Framework Documentation of all processes Documentation of systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Four year college degree in ! a technical field is required along with a completed MSDBA certification (or equivalent experience). 5 years in the Information Technology field performing increasingly complex tasks plus a minimum of 5 years of experience performing DBA duties and implementing new IS directives is required. Proven ability to complete and document projects on time. Experience working with.Net developers, Java, developers, Sql Developers and testers, Data Warehouse design and implementation, SSIS and SSRS development, SQL Server “Gardens†and “Farms.
Competencies, Working Skills and Attributes :
In Depth SQL Server Database Administration experience Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000, 2005, 2008 RDBMS on large systems Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases Experience of Transactional SQL, DTS jobs and SSIS packages Practical experience in managing the internal and external ! MS SQL database security
